Iıve heard on various grapevines that no company has yet to earn a profit on digital still cameras and/or backs. Could be urban myth. However, given the life cycle, ad and promo costs, etc., of these things - unsold inventory of yesterdayıs news - et al. Could also hold some truth. Dicomedıs gone - died trying to bring in an early high-end single shot (now BetterLight continues with their scan back technology and probably can finally earn a profit). What did Leica have into the S1 and S2, which by the way still (8-9 years later) receive rave reviews from their users, and Iıve never seen one available used - anywhere.
