On mine:
Lens barrel - yes - play or loosensess exists
zoom ring - no - play or looseness
I wouldnıt worry about it unless it seemed to create problems with image making. Iıd guess that range of mfg. tolerances in these cameras can account for much of what you ³feel² handling the camera.
