__New: LEICA MP
Leica Camera AG of Solms, Germany, is proud to
announce the LEICA MP, a new tool for professional and
dedicated amateur photographers. This purely mechanical
rangefinder system camera is tailored entirely to the
precise manual control of the photographically important
parameters of time, aperture and focal plane. The
photographer is not given any support, nor is he distracted
by automatic program controls or options. If the
photographer selects the shutter speed and the aperture,
he or she will be completely independent of batteries.
Rangefinding and exposure metering are of the very
highest precision and have again been optimized.

__New: LEICAVIT
The LEICAVIT-M is a mechanical, battery-independent
accessory for fast film transport with the LEICA MP
rangefinder system camera. The LEICAVIT-M is attached
to the camera, which is also mechanically operated, in
place of the baseplate. The easy-access position of the
wind lever under the camera enables the film to be
advanced quickly and quietly without the photographer
having to take his eye away from the camera viewfinder.
This allows even greater spontaneity in reacting to sudden
photographic situations.

__New: Limited anniversary edition:
50 years of LEICA SUMMICRON f/2/50 mm
Leica Camera AG, Solms has launched a special limited
edition of the standard LEICA SUMMICRON-M f/2/50 mm
lens called "50 years of Summicron". The lenses of the
anniversary edition are designed in a silver-chrome brass
mount like the first retractable model of the Summicron
series of 1953. The focusing and aperture rings are partly
knurled as was customary at that time. The special edition
"50 years of Summicron" will be delivered in a luxury
presentation case together with a certificate personally
signed by Hanns-Peter Cohn, CEO of Leica Camera AG
and Ralf Coenen, Vice President Technology of Leica
Camera AG. The delivery also includes a matching metal
cap with engraved classic Leica logo, an attachable metal
lens hood with a cutout for an undisturbed view of the
subject through the camera viewfinder and another cap for
storing the lens with the lens hood mounted the other way
round.
