Austin--

I have no hard data on what it is they are doing, but I know for sure they
are doing something--not just talking about it, but actually developing--and
I know they are making sure that it is something that will work, and that
will not make the R system obsolete, that will be compatible with it.
Whether it is a digital back for the current R body, I don't know. But the
idea is that the R lenses will be on one end, and digital-something on the
other.

I know we've heard the rumors about the digital compatibility for the M
already, and that the camera doesn't have the electronic capability to be
able to handle digital, at least not as it's configured now. But as for the
R, I think we can count on something as they are in the R&D on it. But you
know it takes a while to get from R&D to P.

Patience, patience.

Kit

Hi Kit,

It would have to be FAR more than just a back...like storage, plus
batteries... And if it is simply a back, it would have to be NOT a full
frame sensor, as I do not believe the film gate is able to support a full
frame digital sensor. But, we'll see...

If that is the case that they are developing a back, then they must have
some electrical connections to hook up to the back, and provide the shutter
release, shutter speed and other pertinent information to the back?

Regards,

Austin
