For those of us whose annual earnings fall below the SSI
cutoff point, we pay at least 50% of our earnings to taxes:
Income tax
SSI
Sales tax
Property taxes (and if you rent you are paying the owners taxes)
Excise taxes
and many, many more. They all add up.
It is the wealthy who pay the smallest proportion of their
income to taxes, yet scream how they are so burdened....
