Steve,
I like the dark tones of this shot, and the
way the darkness is occasionally broken by a
reflective surface--the glass or the plate.
However, I have difficulty seeing the subject
with as much clarity as I would like. I'm not
sure whether that's because of the dark nature
of the photo, or because of a very narrow DOF.
I suspect it's a little bit of both. The lovely
symmetry of the tarte aux pommes is difficult to
fully appreciate here.
