Why do you have to take your eye away? It shows you both the required and
current speed in the viewfinder. You turn the shutter dial and the current
speed changes.

Hi Jo,  I didn't comment on the Hexar because it's manual mode is typical
Japanese bad.  It tells you what it wants to set and you have to take your
eye away from the viewfinder to make the setting.  Plus it is noisier than
an M.
