True. I have slow speeds but no self-timer. Maybe a IIGa?

Well, the Ig had the full range of speeds (1 second to 1/1000"). The II
series Leicas were differentiated from the III's by lacking slow speeds.
So, your conversion is a IIIg less self-timer -- to be a IIg, you would
have had to have the slow speeds removed.
