Some wide angle lenses have significantly protruding elements and the coupling ring is not very thick; so, if you try to couple two such wides, you get two paper weights. A much better idea is to buy two normal rear caps (Konica Hexar RF's are cheap) and glue them back to back. No fuss, no muss and no danger.
