The Brit shopkeepers are thieves.  I've seen television news shows decrying
the shopkeeper's practices.  remember, though, that price includes the VAT.
In the US, One can get a new R8 for USD1695 net of the $200 Leica Rebate.
buy on a Dealers Leica day and you can get an additional 10% off the list
price (1,895-189.50 -200rebate, net $1505.50) at an exchange rate of
1.447USD to 1GBP,  that's about 1,40.43GBP in the US.   It will pay for your
vacation in NYC to come to NY and buy on a Leica dealer's day.
