BTW, this is not true for "all", it's certainly true for cameras that use a
"Bayer", or other pattern.  Film scanners use CCD sensors, and do not
interpolate the data (though they certainly can if they want to, but it is
not necessary to do so...and typically give better results if it's not
done), nor do scanning backs.
