Agreed.  In fact, it's my photographic mission in a nutshell (if I had to
articulate it): discovering the extraodinary in the mundane.

But that's precisely why I like this photo:

It isn't the woman with the bloody face or the cop in the foreground that
does it for me.  It's the line of blue flowers in the background, set up
against the line of cops in their riot gear.  That's just amazing to me.
All this mayhem taking palce in the midst of so much green, as if the woman
herself is some strange flower blooming out of those hedges.

And in a way, she is.
