This is SO refreshing!! I thought I was
the only one who cries
in his fixer on these!
My story, I did the right things, used
my investments to buy Leica
in early 80's got gr8 deals, but i
didn't buy 90F2 for $175 cuz I just
got 90F2.8 for $125 and didn't think I
needed the added stop! Didn't buy
mint MP W/leicavit for $1000 cuz 3
months before I got M4-2 w/50F2 and
winder mint for $700 (body only new was
just over $900 I think) Instead
I got 3f w/flash+50f2 for $250. On 30th
birthday('82) I got a 35f2 for $275
really cool was it's serial number was 3
digits away from a famous
photog's f2 (some guy who shot ppl at
laborious work) but it was stolen by
family member, today I can't stomach
buying
a replacement even though all the above
equipment paid for itself in
fotojobs.
btw: even though ppl trash the M4-2-P,
my most remembered pics and best
selling pics was made by my M4-2 my M6
while good, just differ by a onboard
meter, even my winder on M4-2 is
quieter. When I needed a
self timer, I bought M3 w/dualrange in
late '80s was $500 for pair!
Even with inflation, I still wonder (and
cry) why prices so high!
