Jim,
If, I were you, I would stay away from a 40mm lens on any camera except
a CL or CLE.
First of all the focusing cam on the 40mm lens is at a different pitch
and not always accurate with M-cameras.
Secondly, there is no accurate viewfinder for it.
If you have the opportunity to buy one at a great price, I suggest you
use it as trading material for a 35mm ASPH or a 35RF lens for your M3.
