Actually the knock down price of the van Gogh was 75 million und you
must take into consideration that Vincent never sold one of his pictures
in his whole lifetime - probably because peoples said "NO LEICA".
Today one can buy an excellente book of photographs by Ted Grant for
about half of the price I paid for a Swiss printed book of van Gogh art!
but that doesn't make Ted photos to be of lesser aesthetic value than
van Goghs. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder & frankly I used to
have posters of Teds famous "Johnsons V at the finish" as well as a
print of "Starry Night" on my wall.
