A very kind fellow LUGger donated to me a nice R3 winder with a fairly iffy
battery pack - the internal retaining socket for the long screw rod which
holds the pack together and ensures good battery contact has broken off as
a result overtightening at some point in the past, and certainly won't hold
if I attempt to just glue it back.
The winder itself works fine when the battery contacts are firm.
Anyone out there have (or know a cheap source of) spare R3 or R4 winder
battery packs? Osterloh says they're identical, but are they as they have
different part numbers?
Interestingly I note that the winder doesn't wind on when the film advance
lever is swung out to first position. Took me a little while to discover
that this was the reason that I was getting zilch from the winder even tho'
I was pressing the casing to ensure good battery contact. In the meantime
it's a black gaffer tape job until I find a new pack or two.
