Subject: [Leica] Help with dates wanted, please

I offered to help a friend date some Leica equipment and he emailed the
following information:

"Gerry, Very kind of you.  I accept!  But, of course, whenever it's
convenient.  The #s and markings are:
35mm Summicron 2827304 (Leitz Canada) and
50mm Summicron 3167368 ("Leitz lens made in Canada").  I use these on an
M4-2 #1530814.  Funny how this "German" camera happens to all be made (or at
least assembled) in Ontario.   It's all very low on the "panache index," but
in my case that's great.  I can almost afford the stuff.  Thanks again, and
happy holidays to you and yours."

If somebody could provide information I would be most grateful.
