No, it doesn't. Spirits do not appreciate in bottle as *good* wine
will. They will, however, hold for huge chunks of time w/o showing
appreciable change.
Beer, by comparison, begins to degrade (albeit slowly) from the
moment it is packaged. Keeping it refrigerated till drinking will keep
it good longer.
In summary, drink your beer fresh, dont worry about spirits for
many years, and taste cellared wine as you go to assure drinking
it at its peak before it begins its long trip downhill to the vinegar
that all wine eventually becomes.
