Well, Richard, you beat me to the "do-it-yourself" approach on a
darkroom sink. After looking at laundry sinks at the local Home
Cheapo and other outlets, I found them generally too deep or too
short. A visit to a professional studio ended up with me on my hands
and knees to examine the construction of the sink there, and some
consultation with a local hardware store owner who's built boats put
me on track for the fiberglass/resin applications. So I've got a
rock solid eight foot sink (which still isn't large enough)
with the bottom angled from all sides to the center drain. Paint for
the exterior was no problem - I poked through the $2/gallon rejects
at Home Depot until I found an exterior paint in an acceptable color.
One caveat on the resin - mid summer with high humidity is not the
time for this type of job. The stuff will take forever to dry
