Subject: [Leica]Chasseur d'image lens tests

I ignore the value for money aspect of C d'I tests as it is subjective. A=
ll
technology suffers an exponential increase of cost against performance,
whether photographic or anything else. Up to the point where an individua=
l
potential purchaser senses a difference he/she can decide wheter increase=
d
cost is worth it. Beyond this it is an irrational waste.
I use mostly Canon and Leitz lenses for 35mm. I read and enjoy Chasseur
d"Image. I rarely agree with their "performance" findings. Perhaps my
criteria are different to theirs. I am rarely concerned by distortion or
vignetting. Flatness of field is of little importance to me, even in the
macro (nature) work I do. I have no idea what parameters they use in thei=
r
performance star system but I know it does not agree with my personal
experience of the admittedly few lenses which I own and they have tested.=
