You are mistaken about the Pentax LX. One of my employees uses them and has
had one overhauled just recently.
And LTM Leica cameras are not out of favor with Leica, but there are
independent repair facilities, for other cameras too. But I agree on the
price of used Leicas. They will give a better return on investment than
anything else. Not that it's really an investment, but buying good tools
that last is economical.
