The later versions (Winder R and Motor R, as opposed to the Winder R4 and
Motor R4) are better. They were redesigned to be more rugged (and they are)
and they have electrical contacts for the hand grip. They have a nice
button for shooting vertically. I never had significant problems with any
I've owned. The motor takes a bunch (10) of batteries.
