I recently traded some equipment for a Robot Star that was made sometime in
the 30's. It takes 55 images per 36 exposure 35mm roll, so is evidently a
bit larger format than half frame. Is this the standard format today for
Robot cameras?

Gary - The Robot that you have is probably a 1940 Luftwaffen model
with a right angle finder used to look into with the lens pointed down.
Depending on condition & military markings, it would sell today for
about $450 to $550.
Some Robots were made in 16x24,18x24,16x16,24x24 & full frame
24x36 but most took 50 exposures @ 24x24mm. The latest ones
that I am aware of take 24x24mm.
The life-time warranty applies to defective materials & workmanship.
You are expecting too much from a camera that literally has been
"through the war".
