Joy, the proper way to quote is just to indent the quoted text and put a ">"
character in front of each line; just the way I quoted your text. Your mailer
might do it for you in a certain "reply mode".

Another possibility is to put the name of the sender before the ">" character:

To prevent excessive quoting you can show where you took things out:
