The aluminum alloy comprises the barrel or body of the lens, NOT
the mount. The bayonet mount itself is steel (stainless probably).
Aluminum, regardless of the alloy, would be entirely too soft to
withstand the rigors of repeated mounting and unmounting over the
years.
