It's so enticing! But I have this problem (maybe unfounded): it seems a bit
like ostentatious jewelry. Why? A titanium Contax G2 doesn't. The Olympus OM-4
has quietly been titanium for many years. Titanium was/is an option for the
Nikon F3. No problems there. Maybe it's the unusual "bumpy" body-covering on
the Titanium M6: supposed to simulate lizard-skin or something? Overall it's
attractive and remarkable, has the cachet of scarcity, and is suddenly, just
barely, affordable. But aren't these the "wrong" reasons? As you see, greater
wear-resistance doesn't even enter in to my struggle. Let us know how you
decide!

Hi,

Is the titanium finished M6 worth the extra $500? Does the finish really
provide enough scratch and wear resistance to warrant the extra price? I
also noticed that the titanium body has a 0.8mm brass top plate rather
than the normal die-cast zinc. Does this make a big difference?

Since the rebate of $500 is so enticing, I'm finally able to afford a
brand new Leica M-series camera. The only question is do I want to
starve myself for an extra month just for the extra titanium finish.

Thanks,
