In my earlier post re masking tape stuck on back of camera for film ID &
notes I forgot to say that the best pen for such notes is a SANFORD SHARPIE
("ultra fine point") permanent marker. They're available in any office
supply store at about $.99 each. Also, I use a STAEDTLER MARS technical pen
(very fine: "3x0"). This pen not only writes on thelabels, but allows ID
#s, etc. to be written on the rebate of 35mm negs as well as other film
formats and sizes. And, BTW, re that dial on the back of M3s-- mine
interfered with my tape marking system so I covered it with a carefully cut
strip of WIDE black plastic tape (3M, I think it was). The smooth surface
of the tape helps to release the masking tape and covers the lumpiness of
the (largely useless) film reminder dial.
