I tried this on an M6 and got a nasty clicking sound while moving the film
advance lever. It sounded like a gear being forced to turn against another
that didn't want to move. The photo came out with the second image only 90%
overlapping the first. Clearly the film advanced a smidgen.
However, because of the noise I don't intend to try this again. Make any
sense to you all?
