I am relatively new to this list and have not heard the "horror stories"
about Leica, New Jersey that Brian Levy refers to in his 10/4 message ("The
Eternal CL and M Leicas).  Can anyone provide a brief synopsis for the
uninitiated?  Second, what are the best U.S. alternatives?
