Much of Leitz Canada's business was making M lenses and they realized that wouldn't last long without a body in production. Production was modernized and simplified as it would have not been economically feasible otherwise. I had a very early M4-2 and it was very first time I ever "almost" had Gerry (Kindermann) break down on the phone. He worked on the camera for three months and tested it every day until he was sure it was right. I sold it immediately with a one year return privilege. DO NOT BUY AN EARLY M4-2 PERIOD. I use RapidWinders and much prefer the later cameras with the motor/winder coupling. John Collier On Nov 18, 2004, at 11:08 AM, Feli di Giorgio wrote some very good stuff!
