Hi Nathan, Gene,

>As for buying Leica during your trip, forget about it in Poland--it is

>prices are high.

This is rather incorrect Nathan. Sure, Poland is not a major Leica
center but you can actually pick up Leica equipment in Poland at bargain
prices, way lower than in the UK/Germany, e.g. a new M7 0.72 +
Summicron 35/2 combo retails here at PLN 11,990 (GBP 1,710) vs. GBP 2750
in the UK. I suppose it could get even cheaper in real trade situation
as there are not that many buyers for new Ms. As for lenses, a new
black 28/2 will cost you PLN 9,150 (GBP 1,300) vs. 1400 in the UK, a
APO-Summicron PLN 8,538 (GBP 1,220) vs 1,345 in the UK and so on.

The place to check is a pro-photo shop DICAM (www.dicam.pl) with outlets
in Warsaw and Krakow. Btw, you can buy any film you wish at decent
prices in most major towns in Poland if you know where to go. Email me
if you need assistance while you are here.

Regards
Tomasz in Warsaw, Poland
